Junk Fashion #2...

another skateboard earring set. here's what it said on the site I got it off of:Green style is in, and trash has never looked better. so true!
this I found online!(http://onlinefast.org/wwutoday/features/7516) isn't that an amazing dress?!!!! reminds me of the duct tape prom contest... which I will post something above this about... they have some amazing things on their site...
yup says it all!
these are really cool. funky shapes and ecofriendly. made from plastic scraps that get recycled and put together into this. they could be used for lobby space or go great on the porch or in the garden!great way to decorate with seminatural looking furniture too.
trash can made from recycled paper.pretty cool for an office or home office space. well, as long as you don't throw away nasty stuff into it!might try weaving one of these!gotta learn how to weave a basket first!
more interesting bags made from our reuseful (yeah I made that word up!) trash of our everyday lives-potato chip bags. and prolly aluminum foil or something silver. Oooooooooo!oooooo...ooooooo.oooooo!!!!! meeeep rebounding everywhere! ok. these were made by the women of honduras for the fair trade project. If you do not know of the fair trade project, it is this thing where it's free trade between poor countries and not so poor countries and whatnot. and you can get catalogs of the items that the women...not the men, just the women as the men work or do other things there...make By Hand from scratch.they earn money and get the chance to eat and have pay and work and are more able to help thier own families especially thier precious and beautiful children. anywhere from africa and asia to south america. I will give you the name of the catalog thing in a moment after I find it...hang on a sec... before I give it to you, I wish to say this to any woman out there who reads this post: pleasepleaseplease support the fair trade project and free trade and continue to help woman and the world with your fashion and other aspects of your lives. ok now for the name of that catalog....hmmmmmmmm... actually the thing I know my family gets is called SERRV. http://www.serrv.org/default.aspx this is thier website and you can get their catalog like once or twice a year maybe seasonally like quarterly but you should look into their stuff. and the catalog will tell you what the product is where it was made if it was from Africa what it is made of and all that. very informative and has stories of women in certain areas. they have some really really nice stuff in the catalog. feel free to subscribe to the catalog. don't know a bout if you have to pay for it or not. sorry...i know this is long but I had to bring that up!

more recycled trash stuff! man, I am totally enjoying seeing all this awesome stuff. anyways, this is made from...brb...lol...oh wow! ok this is a new one...waaaaaaaaaaaait for it.... detergent packs and toothpaste tubes! yup! thats what they were made from! totally gonna try this too!because its a different material than all teh rest. I bet they put plastic or an old bag on the inside though to keep it nice and fresh for you! pretty stylin'.oh. and they were made in java, japan for some reason. hmm. oh it says on the site that the materials were found by "slum dwelling scavengers" in jakarta which I believe is near java. another awesome way to help to save our beautiful and much needed planets resources. one of the things I said I would never be was an environmentalist. my oh my- how life laughs at us whenever we utter such silly words.
while I am not a huge fan of china sets or dishes or even this ugly necklace ( sorry red, but you aren't my favorite shade!), I think this is a great idea in case your china gets broken in a move or one of your kid(s) decided to break your grandma's best china piece in a tantrum fit by throwing it at the wall out of toddler anger or something. great idea for earrings cuz I saw some and it looked nice and classy. great for the classy and proper lady who wishes to look her best at work or to something fancy!
speaking of music and playing piano!...this is a piano string choker! how awesome. maybe Steinway and Sons Pianos isn't totally contributing to pollution!(they throw out the wood they don't use for the pianos they make-sad, so sad)plus this is probably the only good a broken or "dead" *sniffsniff* piano could do. if it's in really bad shape that is. I might be looking into buying this really crappy piano if I can get $25 dollars really soon. maybe if I buy it then I could make this necklace too!!!!yay! and WAHHHHHHHHHH for broken and dead pianos. (*fictional moment of silence for dead piano*lol)
wooooooooooohoooooooo! love them!great great use of music stuff to make this. part vinyl records, guitar strings, and other things. I do not know what the guitars or eighth notes are made with or of but these are really of special interest to me as I play( well played) the piano since I was seven. I haven't been playing since may of 2010 and I'm thinking it would help if I started again. It calms me down playing music. yeah, so if I start playing again, I have like 12 years of playing experience.I really want to teach beginners piano, any age is fine, you just have to know little to nothing about music or piano. preferably!btw, the swirly clef above on the earrings is called G clef otherwise known to musicians by its formal name treble clef. there is another one but its not as swirly or attractive. I like to think of treble clef as a woman and bass/ f clef as a man.
a steam-punk watch ring!really cool. if you don't get what that means, basically someone took old watch parts and like smashed them together (the word is prolly compressed! new vocab!) to make awesome jewelry. steam-punk is like when you take technology and like clockworks or engines or machines or parts and make cute jewelry out of it!so yeah. the computer parts stuff I have on here on the other post is prolly considered steam-punk.
this is a really awesome idea. lots of people are skaters or have or ride skateboards and I'm sure there are plenty of broken ones somewheres. now how does one go about taking one apart to make these? let me know if you have done anything like this before. I could use your help if you ahve. :) plus, this is the kinda think I'm going for.... punkprincess sorta stuff. well, trashy punkprincess because I am looking at all this cool up-cycle, steam-punk, and trash to treasure stuff. so I guess I am eco-friendly. No wonder my favorite color is green!(*sorry I may not be blonde but I was born a blond!slowness still lingers about sometimes....*) all this stuff is making my life so much better and happier!
too awesome! never would have come up with this idea on my own. very very appropriate for the medical and technological for the "age" we are in. although, I would think some people would want thier x-rays for personal records or something. I guess dead people don't need them though. if anyone knows how to get your hands on unwanted xrays, let me know. If this is illegal, then forget it. just think this maybe one of the awesomest ideas for upcycled awesomeness ever!
this is another cuff bracelet but its made with newspaper-the comics like the bag on the other post! this bracelet will be going with my comic strip outfit I guess. I had no idea comics were so in style now. well, there's a time for everything!
this was on some women's bag blog thing-Maggie's bags- and it is also made from bottle caps! pretty awesome that they are folded in half. it looks like this was made with gold safety pins or beads!I am so gonna try this armlet/cuff bracelet. I think I am going to lose room in my jewelry box for all of this stuff! and I will need to get my ears re-pierced to show off the lovely earrings I will be making from the beautiful trash I am going to get soon!!!!
she says they make stuff with recycled seatbelts! I plan to make a belt with cool stuff if I could get my hands on some recycled or broken seat-belt parts!!!! :)

a non-available picture I could not find should be in this space. lol

well, it was this really modern wine rack made from technology parts and it was all black and all circles. it could have been a wall sculpture instead!oh well...

Ok1 I just discovered this really cool website that has upcycled stuff on it! yeah for trash artistry!here it is: http://www.trunity.net/upcycling/galleries/view/140931/?topic=15932 enjoy! you have to like sign up for it though...eh.

As everyone I have seen so far about recycled and "up-cycled" jewelry and fashion is this undeniable truth- that one man's trash is another man's treasure!

check this article out if you are interested in where I got some of this stuff!(http://ecoble.com/2009/03/13/wearing-trash-10-recycled-jewelry-designs-that-demand-attention/)

there is tooo much cool stuff I'm finding so gonna have to make this at least a three long post deal... XD
